The Challange:
OMNIPART is a consortium consisting of ten medium-sized bus companies, making sure the operation of public transport (ÖPNV) within the districts of Bavarian Swabia (Bayrisch-Schwaben) and northern upper Bavaria (Oberbayern). With its fleet of vehicles, OMNIPART ensures the transportation of about 170.000 passengers per day.
In previous years an ITCS was introduced. Now it was required to equip vehicles with radio systems that pre-empts traffic lights according to VDV. The radio system is supposed to be serially controlled by the on-board computer receiving the information “transmitting channel” and “telegram”. Since several cities are served, it must also be possible to send telegrams over different frequencies.
The favORITe of solution: ILSE - The Radio Cassette 3
Once we had won the tender we modified ILSE – The Radio Cassette 3 to meet the needs of OMNIPART. The integrated controller, as well as the FFSK modem offers a reliable generation of data telegrams.
The narrow 19" radio cassette provides an integrated voltage converter that now enables to work completely without using the previous external lossy converter. The sophisticated housing design allows 19” rack mounting, as well as the installing for example on a mounting plate.
